This 2010-2011 season is considered positive for organic apples from Val Venosta, production is rising and quality is very good.
Harvesting of organic apples is almost complete. The 130 producers have reached 21,400 tons, up 4% from last year. The number of producers and hectares of land has increased compared to 2009.
The quality of apples is considered exceptional for Golden Delicious, which represents 52% of production.
Organic apples of Val Venosta are sold in Italy for 40% and 60% abroad. The largest export market are Germany, Scandinavian countries and France.
