For this season, melons production in Castilla La Mancha will be lower than last year.
The expected production is 300.000 tons that is 15 % less, in spite of the increase of cultivated surfaces.
On a total of 11.300 hectares, production is lower this year because of the abnormal meteorological conditions which affected cultures development.
The AREFLH, which includes producers and marketers of melons from France, Italy and Spain, will meet to Toléde on September 31st and October 1st.
