First land of kiwifruit in France, the Adour region harvested their kiwifruits with Red Label.
A quarter of the French production comes from the Adour region, 320 farmers producing 2,000 tons of kiwifruits each year in the small area surrounding the city of Peyrehorade.
The crop was planned on Saturday, November 6 for ten days. Kiwifruits will then be refined and will be on the shelves in mid-December, for over five months.
For the first time, the Adour kiwifruit with Red Label will have the initials "European PGI" (Protected Geographical Indication) and guarantee to consumers that French and European product is conditioned on the area and on the Adour region, stretched in a radius of 15 kilometers around the Adour, the areas of the Landes and Pyrenees Atlantiques.
